How-to guide · Make My Car Fly

How to Make Your Car Fly Like the Tesla Roadster (AI Video, 2026)

Make My Car Fly is the TikTok trend where people post a 10-second AI clip of themselves walking up to their own everyday car, getting in, and watching it blast off into the sky on rocket boosters. It borrows the look of Tesla's Oct 15, 2026 Roadster demo, which was a real car and not AI (see the facts and sources).

How to Make Your Car Fly in 3 Steps

One action per step, plus the one thing to watch.

  1. Take two photos

Shoot one photo of yourself and one photo of your whole car, both in daylight.

Watch out: Keep them separate: one person in the portrait, and the full car with all four wheels in the car photo.

  2. Upload them to the maker

Open the maker on the homepage and add the portrait first, then the car.

Watch out: You need to be signed in to render.

  3. Download or post the video

Save the 10-second 9:16 MP4 to your phone, or post it to TikTok, Reels or Shorts.

Watch out: Mark it as AI-generated when you post, so nobody mistakes it for real footage.

Photo Requirements

The clip can only be as good as the two photos. These are the rules that matter most.

  • Whole car in frame. Bumper to bumper and roof to tyres, with all four corners visible. A cropped car leaves the AI guessing.
  • Face visible. One person, facing roughly toward the camera, with no sunglasses or heavy shadow.
  • Front 45° first. A front three-quarter view shows the most of the car's shape, so it is the best single angle to upload.
  • The rear has to be rebuilt. The clip is filmed from behind the car. If your photo shows only the front, the AI reconstructs the rear, and tail lights or the bumper may come out slightly different from your real car. This is the hardest part of the trend for any tool, and we say so up front.
  • Daylight and open space. Park away from other cars so the outline is easy to read.
  • Your photos only. Use pictures of yourself, or of an adult who agreed, and a car you are allowed to show. No minors and no public figures.

What the Finished Clip Shows

The template is one unbroken shot from behind the car. You walk toward the car, look back at the camera and smile, then climb in and close the door behind you. Only once it is closed do four round boosters under the rear ignite, with white smoke rolling toward the lens. The car tilts nose up and flies away nose first, its rear facing the camera.

All four wheels stay ordinary wheels the whole time: they do not fold, glow or turn into thrusters. The scene is a daytime open road, the clip runs 10 seconds in 9:16, and the sound is ambient only, with no music, no Tesla badge and no readable text in the frame.

These are the checks each clip is built to pass. We have not published an example yet, and we will not stand in someone else's clip for one.

Before You Post

Add the platform's AI-generated label. People are still arguing about whether Tesla's original demo was real, and a clear label stops your clip from being mistaken for news footage.

A 10-second clip costs 10 credits at 480p or 22 credits at 720p on Seedance 2.0 Mini, 20 or 44 on Seedance 2.5. RoadsterAI is an independent site, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc., and the clip uses no Tesla footage or logos.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is usually called Make My Car Fly, or the Tesla Roadster AI flying-car trend. The clips borrow the look of Tesla's Oct 15, 2026 Roadster demo but use people's own cars.

You need two pictures, your face and your whole car, and an AI video maker that animates them into a 10-second vertical clip. RoadsterAI's maker on the homepage does this and is open now.

The Make My Car Fly clip is 10 seconds long, in 9:16 vertical format.

Use one clear photo of the whole car from the front three-quarter (45°) angle. The clip is filmed from behind, so the AI has to rebuild the rear, and small details there may differ from your car.

There is no single app, and a clip alone does not show which tool made it. Starrd publicly lists a Make My Car Fly template, and RoadsterAI has a browser maker for the same trend; our Starrd alternative page compares the two on facts only.

Make Your Own Car Fly

The maker on the homepage is open now. Add your two photos there; a clip starts at 10 credits.
